Laser microperforation in medical packaging industry

Coptics Laser

Film is widely used in medical industry as filter membranes on liquid pipelines, breathable membranes on urine bags to balance internal and external pressure, gas exchange membranes in artificial heart-lung machines, dialysis membranes used in kidney dialysis, and barrier membranes for repairing atrial defects Nets, anti-mucosal membranes to prevent intestinal sticking after abdominal surgery, etc. In order to achieve the purpose of use, in addition to having different pore sizes and mechanical strengths, these medical films are more importantly non-toxic, easy to sterilize, and the materials cannot cause allergic and inflammatory reactions. The laser perforation process is especially important here when the film needs to reach ventilated and watertight pores. In conventional mechanical punching holes, even if the edge of the hole is cracked, it is easy to stretch the film during use, resulting in tearing.

To equalize the pressure inside and outside the container, medical supplies must use a ventilated but impermeable membrane. For example, when dripping water, the pressure inside the bottle continues to decrease due to the constant injection of liquid into the body. If there is no external gas injection, the dripping water inside the bottle will not be able to drip out because the pressure is too low. Therefore, caregivers often insert a needle with a ventilated but impermeable membrane at the rubber bottom of the bottle, allowing outside air to enter the bottle, but the liquid inside the bottle will not leak. Since the outside gas may contain bacteria, the film must be able to prevent the invasion of microorganisms, and the size of the pores in the film must be controlled to about 0.2 microns. In addition, in order to meet the requirements of ventilation but water impermeability, most of these films are made of hydrophobic materials such as polypropylene or Teflon. In order to ensure sterility and non-toxicity, solvents and plastics used in the production process must not remain, and disinfection should be true. Just be careful not to alter the biological or chemical properties of the film.

Films for similar purposes can also be found on urine bags, artificial anus and surgical pumps. The difference is that the device's membrane is designed to prevent bodily fluids from escaping and contamination during venting, but its production requirements and specifications are similar to the applications described above.

Laser perforated films are widely used in the medical industry. Coptics Laser has unique advantages in thin film drilling . From the improvement of hole density to equipment speed, it has continuously broken the monopoly of foreign countries in this technology and realized diversified innovation.
